State’s Hispanics gaining in economic strength – Nevada
Tagged: NevadaPosted on: October 14th, 2007“Hispanics are not only growing in numbers in Nevada and Washoe County, they’re also growing in economic clout, U.S. Census Bureau numbers suggest.
Hispanics — those born in the United States and those who moved here legally or illegally — accounted for 8 percent of the income earned in Washoe County in 1999, but that increased to 12 percent in 2005, according to census bureau estimates.
Statewide, the Hispanic share of income increased from 11 percent to 14 percent in the same period.”*
