“More than 60 individuals from creative and business executives as well as talent are being honored Monday, October 15 by The Imagen Foundation in celebration of Hispanic Heritage month. This inaugural event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills marked the final day of this month’s long national celebration. Honorees included: Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment; Belinda Menendez, President, NBC Universal International Television Distribution; Armando Nunez, Jr., President, CBS Paramount International Television; Oscar nominated film producer David Valdes; Actor Hector Elizondo; award winning Director/Choreographer Kenny Ortega; Actress Lupe Ontiveros; Cynthia Cidre, Creator of the CBS series “Cain”; Silvio Horta, Creator of ABC’s “Ugly Betty”; Oscar nominated writer Jose Rivera; NALA Films President Darlene Caamano Loquet; WGBH executive producer Joseph Tovares; and Christina Davis, Sr. Vice President Dramatic Development CBS.
“Latinos contribute to the world of entertainment in all facets of the industry, not just in Spanish language. We are presidents, creative executives, decision makers, and talent. What better time to celebrate our accomplishments than during Hispanic Heritage month,” said Helen Hernandez, President& Founder of The Imagen Foundation.
The Imagen Foundation, best know for its annual Imagen Awards which honors positive portrayals of Latinos and Latino cultures in television and film, was established in 1985. Imagen serves as a bridge between the Latino community and the entertainment industry to provide, access, education, and resources to Latinos in the industry and those looking for careers in entertainment.”*
