“A task force formed to study the effects of illegal immigration on Alabama and to come up with suggestions for dealing with the problem heard from state officials today.

Members of the Joint Patriotic Immigration Commission said they would be able to make recommendations to legislators by the third day of the 2008 regular session.

State health officer Don Williamson told the task force that Hispanic immigrants are bringing additional cases of communicable diseases into the state.”*
