“Jose Reyes was listening to a Spanish-language radio station when news broke that large numbers of immigration agents were descending on McDonald’s restaurants all over the Reno area.
He’d been hearing rumors about a possible raid for days. He left the store where he works and rushed to witness the rare event unfolding at a McDonald’s just down the street.
“I’d never seen the ‘migra’ before. I have papers so I knew it wouldn’t affect me. Maybe that’s why I felt brave enough to go,” Reyes said. “A lot of them were ladies who they took out in handcuffs. They were crying. It doesn’t seem fair.”"*
