Tagged: Georgia, outreach, studentPosted on: October 10th, 2007“These 20 women, who range in age from 20 to 60-something, are serious students, intent on learning English.
Twice a week, they come to Sycamore Elementary School in Sugar Hill for three hours of free English instruction with Ours, the school’s parent outreach liaison. They’ll meet regularly until the school year ends in May.
“We’ll take people at any age and stage, but we have to close the class to avoid repetition,” said Ours, a Miami native who grew up speaking Spanish at home.”
