Wal-Mart de Mexico reports net profits up 19 percent in third quarter

“Wal-Mart de Mexico SA reported Tuesday that profits rose 19 percent in the third quarter thanks to operating cost reductions and stronger sales.

Mexico’s largest retailer posted a net profit of 3.4 billion pesos (US$308 million; €219 million) during the quarter, up from 2.8 billion pesos (US$259 million; €185 million) in the year-earlier period, according to a company statement”
