Cross-border business boom - More companies based in Mexico are opening shops in the United States

“A growing number of Mexico-based businesses are expanding into San Diego County, following some of their patrons north and tapping into the region’s cross-border population for new customers.

The businesses might not be immediately recognizable to most San Diego residents, but they are familiar to Tijuanans: D’Volada cafe; Romesco, which is part of the Plascencia family’s restaurant chain in Baja California; and seafood place Mariscos Godoy.

At least five other well-known Tijuana businesses have opened in San Diego County over the past year or are preparing to do so. “
