Cantu Center dedicated in Chicago

“Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and corporate and community leaders dedicated the Carlos H. Cantu Children and Family Center Friday in the Little Village neighborhood.

The center is the latest initiative by El Valor, a non-profit organization, to fulfill the social needs of the fast growing Hispanic and non-Hispanic communities in the Chicago area.

The Carlos H. Cantu Center, the fourth community center operated by El Valor, is a $7.7 million, 28,000-square-foot facility that will serve more than 500 children under age 5 and more than 1,000 families who live in the highly populated Little Village and surrounding communities.”
