I just passed the 30,000 post mark! Wowza! This is more of a feat than you may imagine. Day after day of posting with only my passion to support me. But this is really only half the story. I came up with some facts recently dug up and calculated from US Census and Pew Hispanic numbers. This is why Hispanic/Latino news in English is essential to us. This is why day after day, I work on HispanicTips striving to bring you the best news I can in the most accesible ways possible. If I didn’t do this, who would?   • 33.5 million (75%) of us speak only English or are bilingual.
  • Of Hispanic Adults (18+)
    • 15.8 million (56%) use the internet.
    • 4.6 million (29%) get news from the internet.
    • 3.5 million (75% of 4.6m) get all of their news on the internet in English
    • 51% think English media does a poor job of providing relevant news - this jumps to 65% for English-only Hispanics
    • Advertising on a national Spanish news TV program would reach only 39% of Hispanic voters
  • Where do Hispanic voters get their news?
    • 53% get all their news in English
    • 40% get their news from English and Spanish media
    • 6% get their all their news in Spanish
