“Former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet got a break from his tailor, who agreed to accept his used business suits as partial payment toward new clothes. Less than a year after the general’s death, the tailor is offering the suits for sale to collectors or admirers.
“Pinochet is known internationally, no matter if what he has done was good or bad,” said Adrian Marinao, standing behind the worn, wooden counter at his sewing shop three blocks from the presidential palace in Santiago. “People are interested in him. What I have has value.””
