Knowledge is Power!
“Martin Espada, a well-known Latino poet, will read selections from his work Thursday, Oct. 11, at the University of Central Florida.
The reading, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m. in the Garden Room (221AB) of the Student Union.
The Brooklyn, N.Y., native is bilingual and traces his roots to Puerto Rico. His poetry dances back and forth between Spanish and English. He has written 14 books, and his latest book, “The Republic of Poetry,” received the 2007 Paterson Award for Sustained Literary Achievement. It also was a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize.”
