“Across the Bronx, many Hispanic parents struggle with the decision to enroll their tykes in pre-kindergarten programs, education advocates said. Now a new campaign is trying to help these parents over that hurdle.
The push is part of a national campaign launched last month at Bronx Community College to encourage Hispanic parents to take advantage of local quality child care and education programs.
“\[Pre-K\] is the best opportunity children have for developing social skills and artistic skills, and to get a solid foundation,” said Marilyn Runge, the city Education Department’s pre-kindergarten director for the Bronx.”
