“This week NY1 salutes Hispanic Heritage Month with a special look at Latino immigrants who work seven-day weeks so they can send money home to support their families. Tuesday NY1’s Dean Meminger filed a report on a family from Ecuador that has turned the need to send money home into a major business.

Sometimes it’s a little money they send home, sometimes it’s a lot. But no matter how much it is, Latino immigrants know they need to send some money back home.

“People are waiting for this money,” said entrepreneur Hector Delgado. “This money is not for saving or to put in the bank. This is money is to buy the food, to pay for the clothes, for the school, the everyday necessity.” “
