“As Reno continues to undergo a metamorphosis of development and population growth, the need to communicate with a diverse population has left some people asking: “¿Habla español?” (Speak Spanish?)

Conversing in Spanish has become less difficult for Sgt. Mark Morton of the Reno Police Department, thanks to a city program that addresses the need to communicate better with the growing Hispanic population.

He and other members of the department participate in the city of Reno’s Diversity Language Skill Program, which provides city employees Spanish language instruction.”
