CBS Offers Spanish Language Simulcast of Cane
Tagged: bilingual, blog, population, Spanish-languagePosted on: September 27th, 2007“The series premiere of “Cane,” last night on CBS, utilized a little-known feature of television, at least to English language viewers: the Secondary Audio Program.
More commonly referred to as SAP, it allows programmers to provide a second language audio track for a show. It is most often used in local markets with a bilingual population, but thanks to a sponsorship by Chevrolet, CBS is using the technology to simulcast “Cane” in Spanish for a full season.”
