Tagged: Puerto RicanPosted on: September 27th, 2007“In an exclusive interview for the November issue of PEOPLE EN ESPAí‘OL, Noelia tells us about the detox process she underwent in order to free herself from her addiction to migraine pills. Despite what her mother, Yolandita Monge, claims, the Puerto Rican says she’s not bipolar, but does admit to being diagnosed as clinically depressed.
“I feel ridiculous telling this story because there are things, details that are very, very [atrocious], so I say: “It’s easier if people just think I’m crazy,’” the 30-year-old singer says in reference to the alleged abuse she suffered at the hand of her ex-manager and stepfather, Carlos Topy Mamery. According to Noelia, between 2003 and 2004, Mamery forced her to have intimate relations with him by threatening to ruin her career and leave her on the street. “
