Ingrid Hoffmann on food, female chefs, being first

, the Food Network’s first Hispanic chef personality, has a new show, “Simply Delicioso.” As Hoffmann traveled from a studio in Teaneck to New York last week, the Herald News spoke to her about the show, the pressure on female chefs to be attractive and pop music star .

Hoffmann began her career in her native as a soap opera star, then moved to Miami about 20 years ago, where she opened the high-end clothing store La Capricieuse and the popular Latin restaurant Rocco. She appeared on a local television show, caught the eye of producers from the Latin American morning show “Despierta America” and began a regular cooking segment.”
