“Earlier this month, Mexican businessman Jose “Pepe” Maiz fulfilled a lifelong dream by putting on a Major League jersey with his last name stitched across the back while being honored during the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The owner of the Monterrey Sultanes baseball team and newly named Commissioner of Team Mexico for the 2009 World Baseball Classic has another goal in mind — playing host to a round or two in the next WBC at his stadium, Estadio Monterrey, in northeastern Mexico.”
