“It takes a few weeks for 45-year-old Costa Rican born artist Carlos Jimenez to complete one of his works in his Wicker Park studio, where he usually spends the day creating. Jimenez started out working in oils but is now known for his flamboyant acrylic artwork.

Raised in Humboldt Park, Jimenez says a grade school teacher recognized his potential early on following a field trip to the zoo.”
