Tarrant hospital board postpones decision on illegal immigrants - Dallas

“The Tarrant County Hospital District board postponed a decision Tuesday about whether to expand its charity non-emergency program to include illegal immigrants after more than a year of lobbying from both sides of the issue.

Instead, the board approved a resolution to create a healthcare access committee. That committee’s mission has not been determined but could include access issues involving illegal immigrants. Chairwoman Erma C. Johnson Hadley said she introduced the resolution at the urging of Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley.”
