“The USHCC Foundation will convene 100 Hispanic youth from Puerto Rico and across the country to participate at the 28th Annual National Convention and Business Expo on September 19-22 in San Juan. The “BizFest” is being held in collaboration with the Caribe Girl Scout Council and the Puerto Rico Department of Education.

The 100 youth will be among the thousands of corporate executives, business leaders, elected officials and chamber presidents at the national convention that will be held at the new Puerto Rico Convention Center. “BizFest” is the USHCC Foundation’s signature youth entrepreneurship training camp where more than 100 students participate each year. The national “BizFest” is the culmination of a series of regional BizFest Competitions held throughout the year in major cities across the country.

“This is an extraordinary opportunity for Latino youth to be in the mix with some of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs,” said USHCC Foundation President Frank Lopez. “Through the “BizFest’ these high-school and college students will learn the secrets of entrepreneurial success through an intensive three-day curriculum. I invite everyone to come see the 100 best and brightest of our future leaders and entrepreneurs.”

Jim Vella, President of Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services, is the Honorary Chair of the USHCC Foundation’s “BizFest.” “At Ford Motor Company Fund, we believe education is the cornerstone to strengthening communities. We are proud supporters of the USHCC Foundation and champion “BizFest,’ which is an exemplary program that provides growth opportunities for Hispanic youth and valuable insight into the automotive industry,” said Vella.

The 100 Hispanic youth will present a business strategy and then compete for scholarships and internships at the USHCC Foundation’s National Youth Entrepreneurship “BizFest” Training & Competition on September 20-22.

The sponsors include Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services, Sprint Foundation and UPS Foundation. For more information on the 28th Annual Convention please visit www.ushccfoundation.org.
