Chicano chair at SDSU brings fresh perspectives - Bill “Memo” Nericcio - San Diego State University

“Like all good rebels, Bill “Memo” Nericcio has always crossed boundaries: physical, like the one he crossed as a child between Laredo and Nuevo Laredo; literary, as he moved between writings in English and Spanish; and intellectual, as a professor at San Diego State University.

“Literature is the story of rebels,” he says. “Growing up in southern Texas, in Laredo, on the border, definitely fostered a rebelliousness in every facet of my intellectual life.”
