“The Chicago White Sox and manager Ozzie Guillen have agreed to terms on a multiyear contract extension through the 2012 season, White Sox general manager Ken Williams announced this afternoon.
Guillen, 43, is in his fourth season as manager of the White Sox after being named to the position in November 2003. He owns a 333-297 (.529) career record at the helm and is the 11th manager in club history to surpass the 300-win plateau. Entering tonight, Guillen is just six victories shy of tying Clarence Rowland (339) for ninth place on the club’s all-time managerial victory list.”
