“Two Pennsylvania activist groups oriented toward gaining Hispanic support for the GOP accused prominent members of their own party yesterday of pandering to “nativist” attitudes by supporting local immigration enforcement efforts and by opposing amnesty for illegal aliens.

The Pennsylvania Hispanic Republican Coalition (HRC) and the Pennsylvania Chapter of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly (PaRNHA) attacked former Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., for his denunciation of legislation to offer legal residency to roughly 10 million illegal aliens. Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta also came under fire for his attempt to crack down on those who knowingly hire or house illegals.”
