Jimmy Smits leads Cuban-American family saga CBS’ new series ‘Cane’
Tagged: crime, Cuba, Cuban, familyPosted on: September 12th, 2007“Is it a Latin version of “The Sopranos”? A Cuban-American “Dallas”? “Cane,” the new series debuting on CBS Sept. 25 at 10 p.m., at first glance seems to be a hybrid of these hugely popular shows.
But, says star and co-executive producer Jimmy Smits, “It’s not “The Sopranos,’ because it’s not about a crime family. And we’re not “Dallas’ in the sense that the women are not going to be jumping into pools and having catfights in Oscar de la Renta gowns.””
