Dominican baseball talent gets most of Yankees’ Latin American budget

“Dominican Republic “inexhaustible” talent is such that the New York Yankees, baseball’s richest team, spends 70 percent of its annual Latin America budget to sign and develop players in its Juan Dolio township (east) training complex.

Carlos Rios, the Yankees’ director for International Development, said at least this year, the team has spent 4.6 million dollars to sign new players, who from now on will begin to compete within the organization to reach the Major Leagues.”
