“Lopez, the ultra-hot Chicano comedian, had given Rodriguez behind the scenes access to the production of his television series and to his concerts. Rodriguez leveraged that access to use Lopez as a vehicle to make a much larger point about the relationship between Latinos and television.

Despite the put-down, Rodriguez’s production was approved, and the documentary “Brown is the New Green: George Lopez and the American Dream” will show up on various PBS stations this month.”
