“Immigrant rights groups and more than 170 people who allege they were brutalized by officers after a peaceful May 1 immigration march joined a lawsuit against the Los Angeles Police Department on Thursday.

The group also filed documents seeking approval to pursue the case as a class action, which would allow other May 1 demonstrators alleging police abuse to join the group of plaintiffs.”
