Knowledge is Power!
“”In 2004, President Bush got a whopping 68% of voters who identified themselves as Latino Protestants who attended church weekly,” Dallas Morning News columnist William McKenzie writes today. “They weren’t a dominant part of the Bush base, reports pollster John Green of the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life. But, as Mr. Green told me, swing groups like this matter immensely in these close elections we’ve been having.”
Now, Latino evangelical leaders tell McKenzie that the collapse of a bipartisan immigration bill earlier this year could come back to hurt Republican candidates in 2008 if they’re looking for support from conservative Latino Christians.”
