Posted on: August 27th, 2007“One of the US National Team’s pioneering generation of players, Marcelo Balboa, is now eager to take the lead on another front he considers essential to the growth of the sport — finding a way to integrate the Latino community into becoming a crucial part of US soccer.
“When Wilmer and Fernando Clavijo sent me an email asking me if I would be interested in being on the Latino Advisory Board, I said yes,” Balboa recalled last week. “I thought, What an opportunity. Finally, we’re going to start something like this.””
