“Saturday’s scorching temperatures didn’t stop dozens of people from attending a Puerto Rican Cultural Festival — a prelude to today’s 37th annual Puerto Rican Day Parade.

Amid the endless supplies of piñ¡ £oladas, roast pork shoulder and red, white and blue Puerto Rican flags inside Brandeis Park on Marshall Street, festival-goers tucked into stewed beef and roast chicken over piles of rice and beans. They listened to the reggaeton blaring from several speakers. They shopped at the half-dozen stalls hawking Puerto Rican flag-bearing T-shirts, wallets and bikinis.”
