Dominicans stake their claim in New York City

“August has been the month of celebrations for Dominican New Yorkers.

Two parades have graced the streets of 5th avenue and Brooklyn, and worked its’ way up to Washington Heights. And In commemoration of this, Tempo, New York Post’s Latino section, has made its’ annual list of the top 20 Dominicans of 2007.

The register includes every category, from film to music to Historians. Here are a few of the greats who pushed the prominence and topped the charts.”
