Univision Partners with American Red Cross to Assist in Peruvian Earthquake Disaster Relief Efforts

Communications Inc., the nation’s leading media company, announced today that it has partnered with the American Red Cross to assist in fundraising efforts aimed at helping those in need due to the devastation resulting from the recent catastrophic earthquake in . has enlisted its national and local television and assets, as well as its online platform in order to reach Hispanic Americans interested in contributing to these efforts.

As part of the massive, multi-platform effort, the networks are taking full advantage of their cross-promotion capabilities to promote the fundraising efforts through public service announcements (PSAs) and special reports. The special programming is airing on some of the networks most popular programs, including: ’s “Sábado Gigante” (Giant Saturday), “Despierta América” (Wake Up America), and “Primer Impacto” (First Impact); ’s “Escándalo TV” (Showbiz TV) and “El Show de Mónica” (Monica’s Show); and Galavisión’s “Decorando Contigo” (Decorating With You). The networks are also mobilizing their sports properties to include “FÚtbol Liga Mexicana” (Mexican Soccer League), “Contacto Deportivo” (Sports Contact) and “Republica Deportiva” (Sports Republic). In addition, Network’s national newscast, “Noticiero ,” continues to keep the U.S. Hispanic community informed with up-to-the-minute coverage.
