Hispanic population growing faster in Ozarks

U.S. Census figures released this week estimate that the Latino populations in a handful of southwest Missouri counties ”” including Christian, where Nixa is located ”” are growing at a rate higher than the average rate for counties statewide ”” 4.7 percent.
In Christian County, the Hispanic population was projected in 2005 to be 1,106 residents. The number grew to 1,358 in 2006, marking a 22.78 percent increase”
