mun2 PRESENTS TWO PROGRAMMING SPECIALS ON AUGUST 18TH

Reggaeton Heavyweight Don Omar Sits Down With “One Nation Under Hip-Hop” Host Frankie Needles for Candid Interview

“Have You Cine?” Presents a Special Screening of “Y Tu Mama Tambien” with Randy Ebright from Molotov

mun2, the preeminent voice for Latino youth in America, will present two programming specials on Saturday, August 18th. First, “One Nation Under Hip Hop” brings an exclusive interview with el Rey de Reggaeton, Don Omar, at 6PM. Later, Randy Ebright, drummer for the two-time Latin Grammy Award-winning Mexican rock band, Molotov, joins “Have You Cine?” in presenting the political and provocative Mexican film, Y Tu Mama Tambien, at 10PM.

One Nation host, Frankie Needles, travels to New York to chat with the certified platinum sensation, Don Omar. The successful reggaeton singer and composer took a break from hitmaking to introduce Frankie to some of his favorite local spots in NY and share his thoughts on life and music. Don Omar also sounds off on tattoos, acting lessons, J-Lo and winning a Billboard for Reggaeton Album of the Year in this one-hour special presentation. An extended feature of the interview is available on holamun2.com, where el Rey dishes on his legendary beef among top producers in reggaeton and his renewed relationship with award-winning beat makers, Wisin Y Yandel.

Hailing from Puerto Rico, preacher turned Latino music hero, Don Omar is the highest-ranking reggaeton artist, consistently topping the charts with hot anthems like Dale Don Dale, Los Bandoleros, Salio El Sol, and many more. His collaborations include the top names in urban Latino music, from recordings with Luny Tunes, Aventura, and Fat Joe to live performances with Beyonce and Shakira. This One Nation exclusive brings you even closer to the King of Kings.

Also on August 18th at 10PM, Have you Cine? presents Y Tu Mama Tambien, an atypical coming-of-age film directed by Alfonso Cuarón, starring Gael Garcia Bernal. Randy Ebright, drummer from Molotov, the hip-hop infused Mexican rock band featured on the film’s soundtrack, meets up with mun2 host Renato Lopez to watch this frank and fiery flick. Y Tu Mama Tambien explores intimate moments in the lives of three desperate dreamers in present-day Mexico. Tenoch and Julio, two teenaged boys, cajole a dissatisfied older woman to join them on their quest to the secret beach, Boca del Cielo. On their voyage through Mexico, the trio engages in extremes of human nature, exploring the dangers of desire in a time of social insecurity and radical change in Mexican politics.
