Si TV Partners With Maria Perez-Brown and Dorado Entertainment to Develop and Produce Multiplatform Programming for Exploding Latino Youth Audience

“Si TV, the nations leading network targeting millions of 18-34-year old Latinos with compelling entertainment in English, announced today that it has partnered with Maria Perez-Brown and her production company, Dorado Entertainment, to develop and produce content for distribution across Si TVs diverse media platforms, including the linear network, broadband, VOD and . Perez-Brown will commence immediately and will report to Si TV CEO Michael Schwimmer.

Perez-Brown has a long list of impressive television credits in the Latino, non-Latino and youth categories, including the development of several drama and sitcom scripts for Touchstone Television. In 2006, Perez-Brown executive produced the 20th Anniversary of the Hispanic Heritage Awards from the Kennedy Center. The program aired on NBC in English and on in Spanish. Most recently, she consulted with Latin American television networks Venevision, RCN and in the development and adaptation of their Spanish language formats for U.S. television audiences.

Perez-Brown was the creator and executive producer of Taina, a live-action comedy series for Nickelodeon about a 15-year-old Latina caught in between two cultures, her traditional Latino and the contemporary world of her school and friends. Taina was named Best Childrens Series for 2002 by the Imagen Foundation and the National Council of .

As executive producer and creator, Perez-Brown launched the popular pre- school series Gullah Gullah Island, which was named one of the top 10 television shows for by TV Guide. Gullah Gullah Island became a top- rated Nick Jr. series and was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award. The series also garnered three Choice Golden Awards, a National Association of Minorities in Cable Award and four NAACP Image Award nominations.

Perez-Brown has received an Annual Achievement in Television Award from the National Hispanic Academy of Media Arts and Sciences; the New York University Award for Outstanding and Dedicated Service to the Latino Community; and an Emmy nomination for producing Gullah Gullah Island. She also served as executive in charge of production for the Nickelodeon series The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo and the networks Peabody Award-winning campaign, The Big Help.

Born in Dorado, Puerto Rico, Perez-Brown earned a B.A. from Yale University and a law degree from New York University.
