“Rapidly growing numbers of Hispanics are fanning out across the eastern half of the United States and settling in rural and suburban counties far from traditional immigrant strongholds, according to Census numbers released Thursday.
While their overall numbers remain small — less than 1 percent of the total population — there has been an explosion of growth in the number of Hispanics in southeastern Ohio. The Hispanic population in Coshocton County has grown 35.6 percent since the 2000 Census. The increase in Muskingum County is 15.4 percent. See chart at the bottom of this page. You also can search for data from other Ohio counties.”
