“Los Angeles, Ca- Maria Costa’s widely acclaimed one woman show “Macho Men and the Women Who Love Them” took home the award for Best Theatrical Production at the 22nd Annual this past weekend. The ceremony was held at the Walt Concert Hall. The honor the achievements of Latinos in the entertainment industry and encourage the positive portrayal of Latinos in all media.

“Macho Men and the Women Who Love Them” has garnered high praise and accolades from critics and audiences alike. This inspiring and hilarious comedic presentation finds Maria Costa honoring traditional values in a modern world within a setting that portrays an array of outrageous and hilarious characters. The show features music legends Francisco Aguabella, Giovanni Hidalgo and Lazaro Galarraga, world-renowned Salsa Choreographer Albert Torres, dance styling from Pedro Aguilar, Alberto Elejarde, and Nory Reyes, over 30 professional dancers and will be hosted by Michael Bernard Beckwith (The Secret).

“Macho Men and the Women Who Love Them” was produced in its entirety by Oro Entertainment, Maria Costa and Francisco Segovia all of which were named in the nomination. A nationwide tour of the production kicks off August 4th at the Kodak in Los Angeles making the historic achievements of being the 1st Latin One Woman Show to be presented at the famed venue and thus making Maria Costa the 1st Latina to headline by herself in a theatrical capacity.

Actress and comedian Maria Costa currently appears as Valerie on ABC’s “” and has previously starred as a regular on ABC’s “DANGEROUS MINDS” and BRAVO’s “THE IT FACTOR”.
