“Tresierras Supermarkets, which operates a small Latino market in downtown Newhall, has scrapped plans to occupy larger digs in a shopping center just down the road.

The decision is a fallout from the recent opening of a store only a few miles away by Vallarta Supermarkets, another Latino-products chain, and from the forces of gentrification, one of Tresierras owners said.”
