“Following the recommendation of her mothers doctor in Massachusetts, Mirles found much-needed support in the care provided by hospice.
“Hospice helped us a great deal,” Mirles said. “They sent a nurse to bathe her and to take care of her many daily needs. It was a great help.”
When the opportunity arose to organize this type of help for the Hispanic community in Polk County in December, Mirles joined the project immediately. She recruited 12 volunteers in her congregation at St. Anns in Haines City, where she is a member.”
