Martin Gutierrez, director of the Catholic Diocese’s Hispanic Apostolate, estimated as many as 150,000 Hispanics now live in the metro region, up from about 60,000 pre-Katrina.
The increased Hispanic market has businesses scrambling to language classes and translation services.”
