“Some California lawmakers are trying to address the needs of Hispanic farmers whose population is growing in San Diego and the Imperial Valley. But powerful interest groups are competing against them for federal dollars as Congress writes this years farm bill. Jodi Breisler has more from Washington.

Hispanics are the largest and fastest growing group of minority farmers in the country. And there are more of them in California than in any other state but Texas. Yet historically the needs of Hispanics have been left out of most federal agriculture policy.”
