“Rita Moreno broke into show business more than 60 years ago as a child, dubbing American movie dialogue into Spanish, then played an endless succession of Tinas, Ninas, Marias and Manuelas before getting her big break in 1961s “West Side Story” as Anita, a role that won her an Oscar.
Today, Moreno, 75, belongs to the tiny group of people who have won all four major performing awards: an Oscar, an Emmy, a Tony and a Grammy.
Shell play matriarch Amalia Duque this fall on “Cane,” a new CBS drama about a Cuban-American rum dynasty.”
