“MEDirect Latino has such a promising business model — selling healthcare products to Hispanics with diabetes — it attracted investors willing to sink more than $8 million in the venture.
Entertainer Rita Moreno and golfer Chi Chi Rodriguez even signed on to pitch MEDirect’s products.
But MEDirect has been rocked by turmoil in the past few weeks. Its chairman, a former Medicare executive in the Bush administration, abruptly quit after just just two months on the job. MEDirects board canned two of the companys founders after getting an ultimatum from the investor group to appoint new management.”
