More than 1,800 people gathered around the Engineering Mall fountain to welcome Purdue University’s new president on her first day — a number that her husband, Chris Foster, described as “overwhelming.”
But when university officials finally pulled Córdova away so she could address the crowd from the steps of Hovde Hall, she apologized to those still waiting in line.”
