California State University, Stanislaus ag educator attends Latino program

“Mark Bender, chairman of agricultural studies at California State University, Stanislaus, has completed a federal program that aims to enhance education for Latino students. Bender was one of 20 educators around the nation who went to Washington, D.C., last month for the Kika de la Garza Fellowship Program. The program, named for a longtime congressman from Texas, is part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The participants met with USDA and other federal officials as they worked on ways to increase educational and career opportunities for Latino students.”
