Grant money earmarked for Latino health – Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center in Hayward and Union City, California
Tagged: California, Dental, diabetes, obesityPosted on: July 10th, 2007“The Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center has received a $75,000 grant to develop a program sending people into the community to discuss preventing and treating some of the health problems most affecting the Latino community, such as obesity and diabetes.
In addition to developing the “promotoras de salud” health educators program, the grant will help pay for the chronic diseases health program ”” such as the breast cancer survivors group for Spanish-speaking residents ”” as well as work toward stronger public policy in the areas of eliminating health disparities and getting early childhood immunizations, medical and dental exams.”
