Tagged: bilingual, family, Florida, populationPosted on: July 10th, 2007“To become closer to their community or improve their financial lot in life, dozens of people are learning English and Spanish during evening classes at St. Lucie Catholic Church.
The church, on Prima Vista Boulevard in the heart of Port St. Lucie, has a growing population of Spanish-speaking worshipers and partnered with Hispanics in Action ”” a Treasure Coast cultural advocacy group ”” to offer the lessons. Youth and family life pastor Loretta Barnes discovered the program while looking for Spanish classes for herself.”
