“Montecito resident and banking veteran James Montgomery has proposed what he calls a one-stop-shop financial institution for “the most underserved population of bank customers.”

BancoBuenaVentura, currently in an informal organization stage, seeks to offer a variety of services to the Latino community between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. “It’s not just undocumented [citizens],” Montgomery told the Business Times. “Frankly, second- or third-generation Hispanics don’t like the banking systems.””
