“Hispanic groups are pushing Santa Ana council members to designate the city a sanctuary after nearly 200 illegal immigrants were recently arrested in an immigration sweep.

During a five-day campaign in late June, 175 people were arrested in Orange County on immigration violations. The crackdown netted 27 criminal suspects, including a murder suspect and a convicted child molester.”
